Chair, Cooksville-Mississauga Chapter

Marcia was elected Chair of Cooksville ACORN in 2017. Since then, Marcia has pushed the City of Mississauga to enact a low-income bus pass and start a pilot program for proactive inspections of apartment buildings.

Tanya Burkart

Chair, Brampton Centre Chapter

Tanya is the Acting Chair of the Downtown-East Brampton ACORN Chapter. She has a diploma in Biotechnology and enjoys biology chemistry and math. As a mom and grandmother, she loves to garden, cook and read. Tanya is passionate about housing and has experience advocating at the federal level with ACORN on financialized housing issues. This is grounded in her own personal experience living in a townhouse complex owned by a REIT.
