Outreach to Protect Tenants from Flooding! (Peel)

Climate change poses unique challenges to renters, especially during extreme weather events like flooding. These issues are rarely heard yet are only getting worse.

In some parts of Mississauga intense flooding has increased dramatically. While the City has taken some steps to protect homeowners, ACORN is reaching out to tenants directly to make sure no one is left behind.

So join Peel ACORN members to do outreach (ie. flyering, postering, canvassing) in renter communities impacted by flooding.

• WHERE? Meet up location is Burnhamdale Park at the Tennis Courts (3316 Cardross Rd). Plan is to meet here before doing outreach in pairs in nearby neighbourhoods. *Training is provided*
