Atlantic ACORN : MLA Picket to BAN Fixed-Term Lease

Landlords in Nova Scotia are using fixed-term leases to cheat the rent cap and evict tenants without reason.  The government we elected refuses to take action to protect tenants from this loophole.

Why won’t the NS PCs act? With a growing housing crisis in Nova Scotia, many people are being forced out of their homes because of Fixed-Term Leases.  We are picketing for CONCRETE action to protect tenants from precarious housing, rent increases, and predatory landlords. Help us BAN FIXED-TERM LEASES!

Join us in Spryfield on May 3 at noon for a PEACEFUL gathering to tell Brendan Maguire – The MLA for Halifax Atlantic and Minister of Community Services – he needs to take action to protect vulnerable tenants from unfounded evictions and rent control loopholes.
