Hidden Renovictions Report launch

As a result of ACORN members' hard work, city councillors are voting *THIS MAY* on a potential anti-renoviction bylaw. BUT there's a really strong effort by the landlord lobby to water down the regulations so that tenants' protections are WEAK. We can't let that happen.

That's why ACORN is launching a report compiling all of the known renovictions that have happened across Ottawa to demonstrate why this bylaw is so important and why tenants need it to be STRONG! The launch comes exactly one year after the City began drafting a renoviction bylaw and just ahead of key Council decisions.

Renovictions are displacing tenants across the city. Hamilton’s anti-renoviction bylaw led to over an 80% drop in renovictions in 2025 and Ottawa deserves the same!
