Bill 60 has officially passed — and with it comes a major threat to tenants across Ontario. The bill will speed up evictions, pushing more people toward homelessness.
Join ACORN members for a provincial meeting for Ontario tenants to discuss next steps to stop the tsunami of evictions Bill 60 will unleash. We’ll walk through what’s coming, what it means for tenants, and most importantly, we’ll talk about the win-win solution the government didn't even consider:
A provincial Rent Grant Program — emergency financial support so tenants who fall on hard times don’t get evicted. It'll mean landlords get paid, tenants stay housed, and it'll save the everyday taxpayer money (because homelessness is actually really expensive!)
