Gautam Adani is the billionaire founder and chair of the Adani Group, a conglomerate operating in over a dozen countries. Adani has been indicted by the US DOJ for $250 million in bribes, and is being accused of security violations before the US Securities & Exchange Commission. His current project is resulting in the forced eviction of half a million residents in Dharavi, a residential area in Mumbai. The Adani Group’s “redevelopment” plan would uproot hundreds of thousands, dumping families on the Deonar landfill, one of Mumbai’s most toxic sites.
ACORN International's Demands:
- Cut all ties with Adani’s projects.
- Guaranteed right to safe, dignified housing with meaningful consultation for the residents of Dharavi.
- Pressure the U.S. DOJ and SEC to pursue the FCPA charges and expose every corner of Adani’s corruption.
