Ontario ACORN is raising the alarm on a landlord that we believe to be the province’s biggest perpetrator of renovictions - Michael Klein. ACORN has connected Michael Klein to 19 (and counting!) affordable, below-market buildings across Southern Ontario where tenants are facing mass evictions for unnecessary renovations.

Some of Klein's predatory tactics include:
- Buying buildings under a numbered company or creating a new company he names as the building address incorporated. For example, London ACORN members at 1270 & 1280 Webster St were told their buildings were bought by Webster Apts Inc. In both cases Michael Klein is listed as the only director when you pull the corporate records.
- Listing false office addresses on paperwork to avoid detection
- Tenants facing eviction are low-moderate income. They are usually seniors, people with disabilities, immigrants or newcomers, low waged workers and families.
- Tenants receive misleading letters saying their leases are terminated that are nearly identical in every building.
- Doubling rents in vacant units
