Calgary ACORN: Tenant Union Forum!

It's no secret that Alberta has some of the WORST tenant protections in Canada. With no rent control, no eviction protections, and the RTA heavily favouring landlords, it's time for tenants in Alberta to get organized.

Calgary ACORN is calling on all tenants to get organized by forming tenant unions in their buildings and neighbourhoods. Join ACORN on July 26th for a discussion and workshop on forming tenant unions and rebalancing the power between tenants and landlords in Alberta! Join us if you: 

- Live in a building and want to get your own tenant union started 

- Live in a house but want to organize a neighbourhood tenant union or help others organize in their buildings

- Are curious and want to learn more!

BUS: Please visit Calgary Transit for the most up-to-date information. Buses stop at various points along 12th Avenue and along 1st Street. The C-train and many bus routes arrive on 1st Avenue and 7th Street SW which is a 5 block walk to CommunityWise. The Stampede/Victoria Park C-Train station is also a 6 block walk.

PARKING: Parking downtown can be a challenge. There is paid street parking on 12th Avenue and on nearby streets (no parking on 12th Avenue during rush hour 7:00-8:30 and 15:30-18:00). Street parking is free after 6 pm Monday – Saturday and free all day on Sundays. There is also an accessibility parking spot located directly in front of our building.
