爭取社會正義和經濟平等加拿大中低收入家庭聯盟ACORN﹐指道格福特上任成為省長後﹐大幅削減給予各教育局的撥款﹐故昨日到教育廳長辦公大樓前示威﹐並向省長派出一張「不及格」的成績單。 Posted July 22, 2019 爭取社會正義和經濟平等加拿大中低收入家庭聯盟ACORN﹐指道格福特上任成為省長後﹐大幅削減給予各教育局的撥款﹐故昨日到教育廳長辦公大樓前示威﹐並向省長派出一張「不及格」的成績單。 昨日﹐該組織由大學路和書院街(College St.)出發﹐一直遊行至教育廳長萊斯(Stephen Lecce)的辦公室。他們敦促省府重新慎重考慮削減教育撥款﹐會給低收入家庭造成什麼樣的結果。 ACORN發言人Josie Weir說：「教育是基本人權，對低收入家庭來說﹐更是一個翻身機會。大幅削減撥款會損害孩子的未來。我們需要充足的資金提供給公校系統，這樣才能確保所有人有一個改進生活質量的公平機會。」 他們又指：「省府從兒童﹑社區及其他社會服務的削資﹐合計起來達到10億元。省府縮減教育撥款﹐令中﹑小學課班人數增加，導致教師失業﹔給圖書館的資助也有50%的消減﹔同時又改動了大學生申請OSAP資金。」…
