100+ Ontario ACORN Members Plan Day of Action for FULL Rent Control ‘Mourning the Death of Affordable Housing’
Posted March 27, 2024
On Monday, March 25th, over 100 ACORN members from across the province met online to discuss progress on provincial housing campaigns and to plan the next Ontario Day of Action for FULL Rent Control. The meeting was led by local ACORN Tenant Leaders, Maribel Jagorin (Waterloo Region), Marcia Stone (Toronto), and Dorine Jean (Ottawa).
Members quickly came to consensus that the next province-wide actions should target landlords killing affordable housing through AGIs, renovictions and demovictions while highlighting the Province’s refusal to introduce full rent control.
So on Thursday April 18th join Ontario ACORN members mourning the death of affordable housing with mock funerals at affected buildings/landlord offices across the province- local action details coming soon!
