Accora Village’s … Shhh it’s a secret… redevelopment Open house

The power of tenants and getting organized was on display in Accora Village today. 

Their landlord Ferguslea Properties Limited is planning a major redevelopment and mass displacement of their current tenants; the current community. Without informing tenants they hosted a Public Open House back in February. Well surprise, surprise tenants that were not told didn’t show up. 

Well that wasn’t right so, members from Accora planned and hosted our own and over 100 tenants showed up to the meeting to discuss how we can organize with an ACORN tenant union.
