South Ottawa ACORN Renter’s Roundtable – Good Turnout & New Leadership Elected!

Over 30 local tenants packed the room at the Jim Durrell Rec Centre for South Ottawa ACORN’s Renter’s Roundtable and Chapter Relaunch. The energy was electric as members came together to share stories, set priorities, and vote in new leadership to guide the chapter’s campaigns for safe, healthy, and affordable housing.
ACORN members launched their neighbourhood campaign to tackle skyrocketing rents and unsafe living conditions to the urgent need for better building maintenance and community services. Together, members committed to taking action on these demands and building the power needed to hold landlords and decision-makers accountable.
The meeting concluded with chapter elections, where members voted in their leadership team:

- Co-Chair: Matt Milne
- Co-Chair: Cassie Lepage
- Secretary: Gisele Labelle
