Hamilton, Ontario – Yesterday ACORN members marched down their street calling on the city to revamp property standards laws. Around 30 marchers gathered at Woodward Ave and marched towards Parkdale Ave, dropping off demand letters at several apartments along the way. The march highlighted the substandard living condition in apartments and the need for a RentSafe Hamilton Landlord Registration Program that would allow bylaw to systematically and proactively enforce the bylaws.
While Ward 4 Councillor Sam Merulla was unavailable to attend, a meeting with ACORN reps has been organized for next week.
