ACORN Ottawa South Takes on Metcap Living!

ACORN members in Ottawa South hit the streets today to call out Metcap Living, one of the city’s worst corporate landlords! Tenants from across the neighbourhood came together to expose the neglect, greed, and disrespect that Metcap tenants face every single day.
People are fed up with sky-high rents, pest infestations, leaky ceilings, and repairs that never get done. While Metcap continues to rake in profits, working-class and low-income tenants are forced to live in unsafe, unaffordable, and undignified conditions. This isn’t just bad management, it’s systemic exploitation of tenants who deserve better.
That’s why ACORN is demanding Landlord Licensing, real rent control, proper repairs and maintenance, and respect and dignity for all tenants. No more harassment, no more neglect, no more excuses.
Today’s action shows what tenant power looks like. ACORN members know that when we fight, we win — and we’re not backing down until Metcap and every bad landlord in Ottawa are held accountable. Together, we’re building a city where tenants’ rights come first!
