East End Hamilton ACORN chapter organizing!

Last week East End members packed the room (enough for quorum!) for their monthly chapter meeting. Updates were given for 335 Melvin Ave, 355 Melvin Ave, and 468 Ottawa St. We also discussed local to national campaign updates, such as the fight for the maximum heat bylaw in the city, and the fight against Bill 60. Following that, members discussed the proposed AI data centre in ward 3. The chapter voted to oppose the project and connect with other chapters.
Finally, congratulations to Tim Marshall for being elected co-chair of the chapter! He is joining fellow co-chair Kayla Leet and secretary Christine Horning on the board, meaning the board is now full.
Members will meet again on June 24th at 6:30 at the Sir Winston Churchill Recreation Centre.
