ACORN across the GTHA joins in on anti-Ford protests

ACORN members across the GTHA joined in on province-wide protests against Premier Doug Ford’s attacks on… well, everyone!
From tenants fighting to protect their homes to education workers, health care providers and many others – ACORN members stand in solidarity with all of those suffering under Ford. Together, we are organizing for a better Ontario.
At rallies, our members highlighted how:
- The passing of Bill 60 will increase homelessness and cause an eviction wave
- Ford clawed back rent controls in 2018 and tried to end it entirely last Fall (ACORN and allies fought back and stopped it!)
- The PCs were the only party last election that did not support doubling the rates of ODSP that keep people with disabilities well below the poverty line
- Ontario renters need FULL rent control, including vacancy control, a ban on AGIs, and a rent grant program
