York West votes to Re-Organize!

Toronto, Ontario -Two big things happened in Jane and Finch on January 15th: nearly 40 inches of snow, and ACORN members voting to reorganize the chapter and reinvigorate York West!
Despite the weather, a handful of members, with kiddos in tow, showed up ready to dig in. People shared what they’re seeing and dealing with in York West right now, and talked about what issues feel most urgent for them and their neighbours.
The group also spent time figuring out how to reach more people and grow the chapter. Members talked through tried and true ideas such as canvassing places people already pass through every day, including Jane and Finch Mall, busy TTC stops, and major intersections. The meeting was a solid starting point, but this is only the beginning. The group is meeting again Wednesday the 21st to vote on campaign priorities and plan the first action of the year!
