Building the Movement, One Trivia Question at a Time: ACORN’s Trivial Beersuit 2025

On Friday, November 21st, ACORN supporters from unions, non-profits and political groups as well as your regular trivia buffs and craft beer enthusiasts attended Ottawa ACORN’s 6th Trivial Beersuit fundraiser!
The night was a massive success thanks to over 100 supporters on trivia teams decked out in outlandish costumes, over 15 silent auction items up for bid, 3 craft beer breweries, a food vendor, amazing guest speakers, ACORN swag tables and dozens of ACORN staff and volunteers.
From moving speeches by ACORN leaders Bader Abu-Zahra, Marie Lourdes Garnier, and Eddy Roue to inspiring remarks from Councillors Jeff Leiper, Stephanie Plante & Ariel Troster, this year’s Trivial Beersuit reminded us why people power works.
On behalf of everyone at Ottawa ACORN we want to give a special thanks to the following groups that because of their generosity helped us raise over $11,000 to support our low income members’ organizing programs for social and economic justice! With no big checks from government and big corporations we rely on your support.
