103 Emerald Tenant Union
Posted December 3, 2024
On Friday November 29th, 103 Emerald Tenant Union hosted a speak out in front of their building to share with concerned local elected reps and community members about their upcoming N13 (eviction for major renovations) hearings.
Over the past 2.5 months tenants in the building have been door knocking, fliering, hosting tenant meetings and connecting with the Hamilton Community Legal Clinic.
The new landlord Endless Property Holdings took over in September and quickly gave all 30 households eviction notices.
Many of the tenants have called the building home for 10+ years … several for 40+ years! Seniors, children, fixed income tenants are at risk of becoming homeless unless Endless changes their plans.
Thank you to everyone that joined in support – 103 Emerald tenants, downtown ACORN members, MPP Sarah Jama, MPP Sandy Shaw and The First Unitarian Church of Hamilton. More to come!
