110 Ontario ACORN Members Meet to Plan Housing Day of Action!

On January 29th, 2024, 110 ACORN members from across Ontario met for the first time in 2024. The meeting was led by ACORN Tenant Leaders Marcia Stone (Toronto), Norma Jean Quibell (Ottawa), April Johnston (Peel) and Kayla Leet (Hamilton).
Members reviewed highlights from 2023 and listened to updates on the progress made in the first few weeks of the new year. However the big focus of the night was getting organized for a province-wide day of action to demand:
1) FULL rent control
2) Ban AGIs
3) LTB Reform
ACORN members are planning actions outside PC MPP offices on Wed, Feb 21st, the day after the House returns to session, to welcome back conservative MPPs from their long winter vacations – Details coming soon! Contact your local organizer or ontario@acorncanada.org for more information.
