More than 70 people turned out today for NB ACORN’s Anti-Poverty March!
Posted October 18, 2023
ACORN members and a slew of allies marched on Fredericton city hall to demand the Higgs government stand up for its people!
Our friends at CFSJ, NBCPD, and CUPE were present for a series of rousing speeches on the steps of city hall. MLAs from the Green and Liberal parties turned out in support as ACORN leaders Nichola Taylor and Peter Jongeneelen presented ACORN’s demands and called attention to the appalling state of affairs in the province.
MLAs on their way to work passed by protesters demanding rent control, a raise to the minimum wage, and that more affordable housing be built.
It was a fantastic event, and NB ACORN won’t let up the pressure until Blaine Higgs and his government address the needs of the people of New Brunswick!
