Thanks to the hard work of our members – including leading member from East York, Donna Borden (click here to check out her member profile!), who has been at the forefront of this campaign – our Predatory Lending campaign petition was tabled in the House of Commons on November 4th, by Glenn Thibeault, MP.

Watch the video below (or click here to watch it on YouTube):

The petition calls on the government to make loan flipping and excessive refinancing illegal, institute interest rate and financing fees caps, and make it easier to report predatory lenders – among other demands. ACORN members are working hard to make the lending industry accountable and to stop predatory lending practices!

To get involved, join us at our action on Wednesday, November 12 at 11:00am. We will be taking action against Citi Group at their Canadian headquarters, 123 Front St. (Front and University) in Toronto.
