REITs or Real Estate Investment Trusts are big corporate landlords that are booming in Canada and elsewhere in the world. In fact, they made more money despite the pandemic!
The problem? Not only are the governments allowing billionaire landlords like CAPREIT, Starlight Investments, Killam and so many others, to raise our rents and make us live in substandard conditions, but the Trudeau Government is giving them huge tax subsidies!
