Remembering Blaine Cameron

Posted October 29, 2021

We are devastated to learn of the passing of long time Ottawa ACORN member, Blaine Cameron.

Blaine was a dream leader - fearless, humble, and dedicated to the fight for social and economic justice. We are forever grateful for the profound impact Blaine had on the organization he helped build and its members.

There are not enough words to describe our enormous appreciation for Blaine's tireless activism & organizing with ACORN and the tragic loss we all feel from his passing. Our deepest sympathies are with his family at this time.

Many ACORN members and allies knew Blaine, having been in meetings he chaired, at rallies he led or even doorknocked alongside him. We'd like to invite all of you to attend a Celebration of Life to honor Blaine and share stories of our time together.

The Celebration of Life will be this Saturday, Oct 30th at 11:30am at Jack Purcell Park. It will be organized by Ottawa ACORN members and Ottawa-Centre MPP Joel Harden's office. All who knew Blaine are welcome.

Rest in Power.
