Webster Campout by London ACORN

On September 27th, London ACORN members held an AMAZING Campout To Stop Renovictions! Tenants at the 1270 and 1280 Webster buildings have received another series of evictions from their landlords, and members know that we need a renoviction bylaw NOW to stop these evictions and save people’s homes! So London ACORN members set up tents at the intersection of Webster and Huron to send a message to the public and the city – that if we allow these renovictions to continue, more people are going to end up living on the street! Big thanks to members Leslie and Amanda for their excellent fake fire prop, and Sharon for the amazing “wheel of misfortune” she made that highlighted the fees, pests, disrepair, and other issues Webster tenants are facing.
The action saw CTV and LFP coming to cover the story and representatives from local MP and MPP offices come out in support.
