Toronto tenant action against Medallion

Posted November 21, 2022

On Saturday November 19th, Toronto Downtown ACORN tenants and allies held an action at the Medallion owned complex of 99 Howard Street, 670 Parliament Street, and 135 Rose Avenue.

The tenants are fed up with pests, outstanding repairs, flooding, lack of security, disrespect from management, rent increases and AGIs.

We had a turnout of 30 tenants and allies. We had leaders who shared their testimonies, some words from MPP for the area Kristyn Wong-Tam, and a march into the building to deliver the demand letter to the rental office.

CityTV Toronto and CBC Marketplace documented the action, interviewed tenants, and visited inside the homes of tenants.

Members have demanded a meeting with Medallion.
