Toronto ACORN members showed up and fought for a strong anti renoviction bylaw at the City of Toronto’s Anti Renoviction Bylaw Consultation at three meetings across the city! Watch Etobicoke ACORN members were featured on City news below!

ACORN members are demanding:

• Require the burden of tenant displacement to be put on the landlord. Landlords would be required to provide temporary alternative accommodations (comparable size and location) or a rental top up for the duration of the renovations, and the moving costs.
• Landlords must apply for a Renovation license with the city. Conditions of the license need to prevent tenants from becoming displaced.
