Quick update on the August 17th tenant meeting at 1755 Jane St:
It was awesome! Over 30 tenants came out to collaborate on ways to address the issues in their building. There was a lot of enthusiastic collaboration that resulted in some great ideas for demands and how to take initiative on an action plan.
Demands included fixing the holes in tenants’ ceilings, addressing pest issues, replacing broken appliances and laundry machines, and more. Tenants filled out 311 RentSafe service request forms and planned an action for August 27th.
Medallion is a shady corporate landlord but we are stronger!
This is just the beginning of the fight for safe, healthy homes for the tenants of 1755 Jane St. We will be coming together again on Saturday, August 27th at noon to take action and get Medallion to fulfill tenants’ demands.
