大溫地區Acorn成員響應，呼籲CRTC推出中低收入者每月上網費用10元的政策。 Posted July 15, 2015維權組織ACORN大溫地區的成員14日配合渥太華、多倫多、哈利法克斯等地，將本地收集到的數百封簽名信遞交給加拿大廣播電視暨電訊委員會（CRTC），希望能為低收入者制定每月上網費10元的規定。 十餘名ACORN成員，14日中午聚集CRTC位於溫哥華Beatty街的辦公大樓外，打著標語表示低收入者無力負擔網絡費，提倡低收入者每月10元等。他們計畫把所收集的數百封簽名信提交給CRTC，同時在大街上尋求公眾簽名支持。 不過，因為CRTC溫哥華、多倫多等辦公室當日剛好放假，投遞未能成功。但組織者表示CRTC渥太華辦公室未休假因此成功送到。 斯科可（Melody Skoco）表示，她是一名無業殘疾人，網絡對她的生活非常重要，搜索信息、尋找工作、寫郵件、孩子們寫家庭作業、銀行服務、付賬單等都需要網絡。但是經濟狀況使得她無力負擔起網絡費用，造成了生活的很大不便。 ACORN也在全國範圍內對400多個低、中等收入的家庭展開，查問他們會使用何種網絡服務、這些服務是否重要、家庭網絡是否可負擔以及如果網絡更可負擔，他們的生活會有怎樣的改變等。調查報告會於兩周後獲得結果。 14日參加集會的另一位發言人哈迪（Rick Hardy）表示，對於年薪低於4萬5000元的普通工薪族而言，每月高達80元的上網費很難負擔，希望CRTC能移除障礙，設定每月10元的上網費標準。 據悉，CRTC正在展開對基本通訊服務的審核，調查寬帶服務是否應該被視為基本服務以及如何使得上網更可負擔，14日是審核第一階段的最後截止期。 ***Article by Liu Huanyu for World Journal
