Nova Scotia ACORN members brave the cold to fight fixed term leases!

Nova Scotia ACORN kicked off the new year with double trouble banner drops this week! Shoutout to all members who joined us this week and braved the cold to fight for tenants’ rights! Members held signs and banners and handed out flyers on Monday and Wednesday near busy intersections in Mainland NS to bring more attention to the harm caused by fixed term leases. We got loads of honks in support, and tenants came to speak with us and share their stories of struggling to find and keep an affordable home because of Nova Scotia’s fixed term lease system. This is why we need REAL change!
ACORN is calling on the Nova Scotia Government to BAN all fixed term leases and implement real, permanent rent control across the province so tenants can feel secure in their homes!
