(Moncton, NB) Tomorrow at 8AM, ACORN will release its new report entitled “Renters at Risk” that lays out the relationship between lack of eviction protections and the severe housing insecurity that exists in NB’s tenant community.

Later in the morning at 10AM, ACORN will be holding a press conference outside of Assumption Place in Moncton to lay out details in the report.  ACORN spokespeople and tenants who are featured in the report will be speaking and available for quesitons in both french and english.

The report will be posted at these links at 8AM on Thursday, Nov 17:

Based on a survey done by its membership in NB’s tenant community, the report uncovers the extent to which tenants fear eviction, creating a severe power imbalance between landlords and tenants in the province.

“With the legislature resuming, and commitments made by the Higgs government to make housing policy reforms based on the recommendations from the 90-Day Rental Review, we know this is the time to shed light on evictions and tenant displacement in NB. Tenants need eviction protections or else the housing crisis will not stop.” says Jill Farrar, Co-Chair of NB ACORN.
