Neighbourhood residents of Acorn’s Municipal Elections: Meet the Candidates event at Shallmar Parkette

First we want to thank Councillor Josh Matlow for attending the event. Also we want to thank Ward 8 candidates Wendy Weston and Philip Davidovits for attending and speaking to our group. It should be noted that Acorn sent repeated invites to Councillor Mike Colle which went unanswered and Councillor Colle did not show up. Alejandro Gonzalez-Rendon, co-chair of Acorn’s Toronto chapter, spoke about Acorn’s platform and initiatives.

The event was an opportunity to voice and discuss ward constituent concerns with Councillor Matlow and Ward 8 candidates, about affordable housing, repairs and maintenance not being done by landlords, Above Guideline AGI Rent increases, and in some case landlord harassment of tenants.

We would encourage everyone to vote in the coming elections, remember voting day is October 24th.
