Landlord Registration Bylaw passes its first reading in Halifax!

NS ACORN members gathered today at the Halifax City Hall to pressure the city council to vote yes for Landlord Registrations! Big day for tenants, especially for some of our members who’ve been living in substantial living conditions because their landlords won’t do the repairs and maintenance in their buildings. Landlords in the HRM need to be held accountable for the way they treat tenants!
Today Landlord Registration will have its first reading.
Several major news outlets came out such as CTV, CBC, and Chronicle Herald.
Moving forward we are mobilizing tenants to get their councilors to vote yes for the landlord registration in the next couple of weeks
