Hamilton Renoviction Walking Tour

ACORN Hamilton hosted a 3.3 KM renoviction walking tour to bring attention to the housing crisis during the municipal election!
During the tour we visited 6 apartments where ACORN members and tenants have been renovicted or are currently fighting to keep their home.
Thanks to all the ACORN members and tenants that spoke about their experience, Councillor Nrinder Nann for speaking about the policy wins this council term and what’s ahead, candidates that came that support ACORN’s platform and our allies Social Planning and Research Council, Hamilton Community Benefits Network and the Hamilton Community Legal Clinic.
Renoviction and demoviction are destorying Hamilton’s private affordable housing stock and displacing low income and vulnerable renters.
ACORN looks forward to working with Councillors, city staff and our allies to pass a strong anti-renoviction and demoviction bylaws next term!
