ACORN Hamilton PSA Do NOT rent here – 65/71 Sanford Ave S – Stop renoviction!

Since 2022, ACORN has been organizing at 65/71 Sanford Ave S. We are calling for community support – do NOT rent at 65/71 Sanford Ave S in Hamilton until all households with ROFR are brought back! The landlord of 65/71 Sanford Ave S evicted tenants for major renovations between 2023 – 2024. Four households put in their ROFR (Right of First Refusal) to return to their homes after renovations at the SAME rent.

Now 14053834 CANADA INC. (RAED ALJERJAWI) with the help of Omar Aziz (Grace Canada Realty, Brokerage) is advertising units for more than DOUBLE the rent and has failed to contact the previous tenants.

This is being heard by the Landlord and Tenant Board October 8th and being investigated by the Rental Housing Enforcement Unit (RHEU).

Units are currently being advertised on multiple rental and real estate platforms including Facebook marketplace.

Demand letters have been delivered in person and emailed to Grace Canada Realty, Brokerage.
