30, 32, and 34 St. Dennis Dr. Action!

Posted April 17, 2025

16 ACORN members took over the buildings at 30, 32, and 34 St. Dennis Drive, fighting for repairs and effective pest control at their homes, as well as the recent above-the-guideline rent increase that they received because of the landlord’s neglect towards the buildings. We met in front of 32 St. Dennis Drive and then marched to management’s office at 30 St. Dennis Drive to deliver a letter demanding real pest control, safety in the buildings, repairs addressed in a timely manner, proper maintenance protocol, effective fix of the floors, among other things. Additionally, we deliver some of the floor tiles that have been coming off in a tenant’s unit!! We also had a “Wall of Shame” at the building to showcase the unsafe conditions of the tenants’ homes. Jon Burnside (Councillor of Don Valley East)’s staffer came out and took notes of the precarious conditions of the buildings! Attached are pictures of the “Hall of Shame” and the members who are fighting back!
