Tenants Demand Remedial Action Over Ongoing Neglect at 4 Grosvenor Ave S.

Posted October 2, 2026

ACORN gathered outside 4 Grosvenor Ave S today for the second time this year, standing with members demanding urgent action on persistent pest infestations and long-neglected maintenance issues.

Following our April action and multiple complaints to the landlord and Hamilton bylaw, some work was completed earlier this year. However, serious issues remain unresolved.

During today’s action, members toured the building, documenting rat activity, holes, and other signs of neglect in the exterior and the interior of the building. Photos of these conditions were posted on the building’s front wall to bring attention to the shocking conditions in the building.

ACORN is calling on the city to complete outstanding repairs and pest control and recover the costs on the landlord’s taxes. Ward 3 Councillor Nrinder Nann attended the action, expressed support, and committed to follow up with city enforcement. Hamilton Spectator was on site to cover the action and speak with tenants.
