Ontario ACORN Zoom Meeting Spotlights Tenants’ Stories

Posted April 16, 2026

Tonight’s Ontario ACORN meeting on Zoom was incredibly powerful, with 20+ members coming together to connect, share, and build momentum. The space was filled with honesty and courage as members opened up about their experiences as low-income tenants, including dealing with bad landlords, unsafe housing conditions, and the everyday challenges of affordability. It was a strong reminder of why ACORN’s work is so important and how much strength there is when people come together.

A huge thank you goes out to our leaders Michelle Walrond as well as Drew Roberts, for helping guide and lead the meeting. We also want to give special thanks to Amy T and Carrie-Lynn Cusson, who helped set the tone by bravely sharing their own emotional stories first.

Members are looking forward to starting a province-wide phone bank to encourage other low income tenants across Ontario to contact conservative MPPs in support of ACORN campaigns against Ford!
