Waterloo Region ACORN Rally to Fight for a Renoviction Bylaw!

Waterloo Region ACORN started off their new chapter with a BANG this week! With over 60 attendees, the Big Action to launch Waterloo Region ACORN’s renoviction bylaw campaign was a huge success! Tenants from all walks of life came to stand in solidarity to demand a renoviction bylaw from city and regional council. ACORN members shared their experiences with renovictions and slumlords in Waterloo Region, and marched together into Kitchener City Hall to deliver a stack of demand letters for Kitchener City Council to receive. Members were FIRED UP, filling the air with chants and gaining the attention of press big and small like CBC, CTV, and the Record! Members finished the action with a big group photo and final chant to send a message to all slumlords in Waterloo Region:
“THE PEOPLE UNITED, WILL NEVER BE DEFEATED!”
