Starlight Tenants Speakout

Peel ACORN and tenants of 2250 Homelands Dr and 2185 Sheridan Park Dr. in Mississauga held a tenant speak out to highlight issues tenants are facing at the apartment buildings. The buildings are owned by Starlight Investments, Canada’s biggest corporate landlord. Tenants are facing a whole host of issues including pest infestation, plumbing issues, sinkholes forming, etc.

ACORN leaders mustered up some noise before the turnout which got the attention of a representative from Forest-Kipling, the property management company. As the tenants spoke about their ongoing problems, the Property Management representative took a note of them and agreed to send it up to senior management.

New Peel ACORN members Dwayne, Debra and Twyla took charge and served the Forest Kipling representative a whole heap of issues. Members also handed over a letter of demands to the representative and got him to promise us a meeting with the site supervisor in the next couple of weeks.

Members ended the action by filing more complaints into the MARC program.
