Canada is in a housing crisis and it\u2019s getting worse with the massive growth of big corporate landlords acquiring tons of apartment buildings and houses only to make profit. ACORN has been fighting corporate landlords and their investors since its foundation in 2004 and has won hundreds of millions in repairs, stopped displacement, and won protections like landlord licensing and registration, municipal anti-tenant displacement laws, stricter rent control laws, inclusionary zoning and more. However, recent phenomenon such as financialization of housing coupled with lack of full rent controls and weak tenant protections, among others continue to put low- and- moderate tenants at a greater disadvantage.<\/p>\n

ACORN se bat contre les propri\u00e9taires d’entreprise et leurs investisseurs depuis sa fondation en 2004 et a gagn\u00e9 des centaines de millions en r\u00e9parations, arr\u00eat\u00e9 le d\u00e9placement et obtenu des protections telles que l’octroi de licences et l’enregistrement des propri\u00e9taires, les lois municipales anti-locataires, les lois de contr\u00f4le des loyers plus strictes, le zonage inclusif et plus encore. Toutefois, un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne r\u00e9cent tels que la financiarisation du logement, associ\u00e9s \u00e0 l’absence de contr\u00f4le total des loyers et le manque des mesures de protection des locataires, entre autres, continuent de d\u00e9savantager davantage les locataires modestes et mod\u00e9r\u00e9s.<\/p>\n
