\n\tPosted August 22, 2022<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n \n\tOn Thursday August 18th, over 70 ACORN members participated in the BIG launch of our municipal election platform called the Agenda for Change (AFC)! <\/span><\/p>\n \n\tWith the municipal election on October 24th fast approaching, Ottawa ACORN members gathered to launch their platform of issues we want to see prioritized by candidates and brainstorm how to build power in our local communities to get out the vote! <\/span><\/p>\n \n\tThe AFC Platform is calling on candidates to support ACORN members’ campaign demands for: <\/span><\/p>\n \n\t1) Improving Our Democracy \n\tYou can read the full platform here<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n \n\tSpecial thanks to ACORN board members Bader Abu-Zahra and Norma-Jean Quibell for leading the townhall and to our speakers from the Ottawa and District Labour Council, PSAC-NCR, National Capital FreeNet, CAFES Ottawa, Ecology Ottawa and Horizon Ottawa. <\/span><\/p>\n \n\tSo what’s next?!
