Featuring Toronto Building and RentSafeTO!

Yesterday, Toronto ACORN organized a walkthrough with Mayor Chow’s Office, inviting Toronto Building and RentSafeTO personnel! 40+ people joined in on putting unwavering pressure on the City to finally do something about this problem building: 500 Dawes Rd. You may know 500 Dawes Rd as the building who is run by Toronto’s Most Notorious Landlord, Carolyn Goodman. 84+ property standards infractions have been outstanding since 2014.

Although the City has recorded this, there has been a lack of enforcement to complete remedial action that is necessary for the building. We came into the fold, and marked next steps as to how we can fix the structurally unsound parking garage that this building is atop of, the eroding balconies, dangerous elevators with leakage, and many more issues.

We cannot let the City witness 500 Dawes Rd collapsing onto itself, all while Carolyn Goodman continues to harass tenants if their rent payment is one day too late.
