Last Saturday, members and tenants of 250 Cosburn gathered together to deliver their demands for better living conditions. Tenants had a speakout with Councillor Paula Fletcher and MPP Peter Tabuns, then marched to the building office to deliver a letter of community demands.
Residents of 250 Cosburn have been enduring unlivable conditions for years, including but not limited to bedbug, cockroach, and rat infestations, no cleaning whatsoever of shared areas, lack of repairs and maintenance, a lack of building security, and verbal abuse and threats from building management.
ACORN demanded the following from building management:
- Regular, thorough cleaning of the building
- Pest control
- Timely maintenance and repairs
- No more verbal abuse and harassment from management
