Toronto ACORN Members Fight For Rent Relief At City Hall

Posted October 1, 2020

Just under 25 ACORN members showed up at Toronto City Hall yesterday to demand Rent Relief for tenants, to stop COVID evictions. Doug Ford & Justin Trudeau have both failed to do ANYTHING for tenants during this pandemic, ACORN members went down to City Hall to demand Mayor John Tory STEP UP for the 50% of the city that rents.

After winning a motion at the Housing Committee 2 weeks ago, ACORN members turned out to make sure that the full city council voted in support of their demands. After rallying in front of city hall, members marched around the building then snuck up a ramp to let the councillors inside the building know we were there, and watching the vote.
