Tenant action against displacement at 274 Kenilworth Ave N

Hamilton, Ontario – Yesterday Hamilton ACORN East End co-chair Elizabeth Ellis held an action outside her apartment. The landlord of 274 Kenilworth Ave N used aggressive bullying tactics to force Elizabeth and her neighbour to sign N11 agreements to end their tenancy.
Elizabeth moved to the apartment in 2019 after being renovicted from her Barton and Sherman apartment.
ACORN is demanding that the landlord does not pursue eviction.
At the action Elizabeth shared how the landlord pressured and harassed tenants to sign the N11 agreement to move out and what the impact of moving would mean to her after already going through this 3 years ago.
ACORN members from the Mountain, downtown, and East end chapters joined the action.
