Peel ACORN fights for Bold Inclusionary Zoning in Mississauga

Posted July 6, 2022

Yesterday, Peel ACORN members rallied outside Mississauga's City Hall to protest the lacking IZ policy Mississauga wants to implement. Members marched around City Hall, distributing flyers and raising awareness on the state of affordable housing in the Peel region.

ACORN members then marched to the room where City Council was meeting and protested before the meeting began, with two members giving deputations. As a result, the Mississauga City Council may amend to the IZ policy to increase the affordability period to 99 years! ACORN will be keeping the pressure on!
