Ottawa ACORN members stand up for tenants at 341 Elgin

Ottawa ACORN members held an action today at 341 Elgin Street, to fight back against the outrageous $36,000 charge that Apollo Property Management is trying to pin on one of our members for a flood in their unit. About 30 people showed up to support the tenants at 341 Elgin.
The tenants spoke out about the injustice they are facing and about ACORN’s push for landlord registration. There was some press from Carleton University as well as some independent press. Everyone helped put up flyers all over Centretown (the flyer has a QR code that links to the ACORN online action).
The energy at the action was awesome, everyone was really fired up and ready to take on Apollo! Many of the other tenants from the building came out and wrote some “messages” for Apollo on the sidewalk in chalk.
