Surrey ACORN Disrepair Tour puts spotlight on neglected conditions in apartment buildings

North Surrey ACORN and tenants gathered to host a media tour of their apartment building, to put a spotlight on the derelict conditions and call for urgent action from City Hall.

For years tenants have faced winters without heat, broken appliances and problems with leaks and mold–all without any intervention from City bylaw.

This action took place as North Surrey and Newton ACORN ramp up the campaign to push for stronger standards in Surrey apartment buildings, and landlord licensing enforced by the City to crack down on negligent landlords.
