Homes not Helipads : Surrey ACORN calls for better housing strategy

Posted June 2, 2016

Surrey ACORN members held a well-attended action at City Hall. 28 members came to show the city that people need healthy, affordable housing, and better accountability measures put in place to protect tenants from irresponsible landlords.

Members are looking forward to working with the Social Development Planning Committee in exploring ways to implement their demands for an updated Standards of Maintenance Bylaw, Inclusionary Zoning, and a database to track Residential Tenancy Act and Bylaw violations perpetrated by landlords.
